Greetings.

Today’s news and commentary, some of which Barry is responsible for:

• “Ganges, Indus Among World's Top 10 Rivers At Risk” (You would think they would not let this happen to holy rivers.)
  
• “FBI Issues New Rules For Getting Phone Records” (Have these people ever read the Constitution?)
  
• “Millions of flu shots to be destroyed” (I cannot make up something this stupid.)
  
• “'Darfur-like crisis in Chad'” (I confidently predict that the UN will do absolutely nothing of substance to stop this crisis either.)
  
• “GM mosquito 'could fight malaria'”
  
• “Ethanol's Growing List of Enemies”
  
• “Ancient lizard used ribs to fly”
  
• “Spiders that love to snuggle”

I question the morality of any sport where the goal is to give one’s opponent a concussion, but some people have decided to give such a sport a new twist. Today’s weird thing is the World Chess Boxing Organisation, in which players alternate rounds of chess and boxing. Personally, I think this would be more interesting if they played chess while boxing. (Disturbing the board or hitting one’s opponent while making a move would probably be prohibited.) Enjoy, share the weirdness, and do not try this at home.
