Since one of the tragedies being commemorated at this time of year is the destruction of the Temple, I think it appropriate that I note The Temple Institute, which has a lot of information about the Temple.
Today’s quasi-weird thing is George Orwell’s “Politics and the English Language”. The phenomena discussed in it still occur today. Go ponder.

2) I thought Oceania was at war with only one of Eurasia and Eastasia at a time (and allegedly had always been at war with that country). Is this just friendly competition?

Well, at least I’m now clear on what Neobol is. I suppose then that the Eastasian ideology is Diewor in Newspeak then. On the other hand, since Newspeak is supposed to eliminate crimethink through putting limits on language, I would have thought Neo-Bolshevisim and Death Worship would be subsumed under "crimethink".
