Beware of James T. Kirk dancing

Greetings.

Jewish date:  20 Siwan 5769.

Today’s holiday:  Friday of the Tenth Week of Ordinary Time.

Today’s quasi-holidays:  Crowded Nest Awareness Day, Magic Day, World Day Against Child Labour.

Worthy causes of the day:  “Protect Our Children - Every One Deserves Healthcare” and “Sign the Strengthen It Now! Clean Energy Letter”.

Relevant to Divine Misconceptions:
  1. “Egypt: Policemen Sentenced To Only Five Years For Killing”:  Translation:  the law in Egypt considers the lives of Copts to be worth very little.
  2. “Court Says Ten Commandments Monument Endorses Religion”:  Duh!
  3. More religious intolerance:  “Ahmadiyah refugees kept in misery, seek Jakarta help”, “Orissa: tensions in Kandhamal. Christians still targeted by extremists”.
  4. “Tribes lose Snowbowl battle”:  Thus is it written:

Would artificial snow made from purified wastewater defile a mountain Native Americans hold sacred?
All those who cannot see how “yes” would be a reasonable answer, stand on your heads.  The idea of skiing on sacred mountains is itself hard enough to imagine.
Today’s news and commentary:
Today’s weird thing is The James T. Kirk Macarena Page, which is recommended(?) by William Shatner in his book Get a Life.  They even quote him on it.  Enjoy (or be horrified), share the weirdness, and Shabbath shalom.
